Requesting Acting Work

No matter what anybody tells you, acting and modeling is really hard work. There are going to be some long hours, and you\’ve got to be serious about this being your career. While with many casting companies can help you find the gigs, you\’ve got to make all of these opportunities count for yourself.

First things first, why do you need representation? Well you need to have somebody that can actually find your opportunities. If you don\’t have that connection made, you won\’t even know about auditions in the first place.

Normally, everybody has to audition for work in some way. Whether it be through literally going to an audition. Or sometimes companies go through http://local.yahoo.com/info-92448674-one-source-talent-troy to request head shots for jobs.

In either case, you first need the representation so that you can get your foot in the door. This way when jobs come up, you\’ll at least be considered. That gives you the chance to find meaningful employment.

You also need to hone your craft. That means working in the field. Experience is the best possible way to learn more about the industry. So look for any jobs that you can, no matter what they may be.

If you want to be an actor some day, find ways that you can get yourself on set. If you can hold the camera, or hold the light, even if you\’re just helping to set up microphones, at least you\’re working. All of that looks great on a resume, because it shows you have a passion.

Sometimes it\’s important for models as well. Modeling isn\’t just about showing up. You need to learn what\’s expected of you. Going to shoots is the best possible way, and if you\’re not the subject, just see what you can offer to help.
