I Am Very Glad That I Participated In A Color Run
The other day, I got the craziest photo from a friend of mine who lives in Utah, which was of her and some friends, covered in bright colors, participating in color run, of all things! Before I got that picture in the mail, I had never heard of a color run, but looking at that picture, I was struck with the urge to participate in one. I asked my friend what the story was behind this event and she gladly obliged.
She said that she had been feeling a little bit restless, and when she mentioned this to her boyfriend, he smiled mysteriously and told her to wait a couple of days. Even though she attempted to wrestle the secret out of him, he would not tell her what he was up to. After three more days, he told her to dress in some nice running clothes and meet him at his car.
The two of them had gone running together previously, but she could tell that this time was different and she could hardly contain her excitement. After a quick drive, they stopped at their destination and she noticed that there was a big crowd of people there. Her boyfriend led her through the crowd to a registration table where they were each given a packet of unique items including a t-shirt and a number.
She determined that it must be some sort of charity race and she was really eager to get in a good 5k run. She got ready, and the race began with everyone running at a good pace, but instead of competition, she found that everyone was feeling a sense of happiness and camaraderie. After running a short way, she was thrilled to find that the runners were doused with vivid colored powder. It was an awesome cloud of vibrant colorful powder, and everyone was shouting and laughing as everyone let out their feelings of excitement.
This barrage of color continued every eight to twelve minutes and every time it was a new color. By the time the race was over, she was completely covered in a rainbow of colors, and that\’s when they took some pictures. After hearing this, I was enthused and decided to participate in the color run that was going to take place in my city a few weeks later. The color run was all that I had hoped for, and I felt totally pumped up and happy being covered with bright happy colors and surrounded by friendly people.
