Survive the Financial Crisis by Selling at Craft Shows
Life is so hard these days. Because of the recession, may people suddenly find themselves jobless and without a source of income. And it’s not because they lack the skills to, but simply because companies are hit hard and need to cut costs. If you lose your job, tough luck, but it also means that you now suddenly have all the time in the world.
So what do you do with all the new time that has been allotted to you? Understandably, many of you will use it by spending more time with your family. A number of you will spend most of their time and energy towards finding new employment. But let’s be realistic, shall we? Until we get away from the eye of the storm that is the recession, finding new employment will be very difficult.
A small business may be a better idea for now. While it will be less than what you used to make in your old job, it’s something at least. The cost of living will still be there, bills to pay and whatnot, and you must have some sort of buffer for it.
Take me, for example, I have decided to go back to a hobby that I had as a teenager. I used to make wonderful wood carvings, but decided to stop when I started out life as an adult. There were more important things to do, after all. But now, I have returned to my hobby, and have decided to earn some extra income by selling them at craft shows.
Looking for craft shows to sell my wares have never been easier in the Internet age. Helpful people have decided to archive ALL upcoming events online; and finding the next show is just a simple matter of surfing for information. Admittedly, it doesn’t give me too much income. But at least I keep the money flowing amidst the financial crisis.
