The key to brain fitness is consistently putting our neurons to work through constant learning. But for kids, the difficulty lies in getting them to learn because of their lack of focus.

Man has accomplished milestones through constantly producing technological innovations. Various aspects such as art, science and medicine, and particularly man\’s lifestyle have improved drastically because of technology. Nevertheless, a lot of parents are against their children using technology because of its common adverse effects on both the minds and wellbeing of its customers. Video games are particularly opposed to as it is identified to be the most common obsession of kids today.

However video games are addictive and usually exhibit violence and other crude behaviors that addicted players copy in some way, not every video games produce negative effects on its users. In fact, playing video games can help a child enhance their sensory-motor abilities, their visual and auditory processing, and even enhances their focus and retention. Based on the game console they have, children would be able to make use of their hands, and in the situation of the Nintendo Wii, their entire body, so they would be able to exercise physically and improve their motor control and visual abilities.

Strategic thinking, speed and accuracy are commonly required to be able to play today\’s well-liked video games. Video games only mean joy and entertainment for children which is why it will be very interesting for them which would make them want to succeed all the time or finish the game with high scores. Therefore, gaming would maintain the child in deep attention during gameplay which would eventually develop their concentration and would enable them to learn better and faster, particularly when the matter captures their interest.

But then again, everything has risks. As a parent or a guardian, it is fine to let your child to play video games but you have to make sure that his playing time has restrictions to avoid obsession and the kind of games he plays are still approved by you. One way to instill discipline in your youngster is using playing video games as a gift if he performs well in school.
