There are many places you can choose to take a break within the UK, with the rising cost of air travel and significantly less cash to spare more and more people are choosing to take holidays in the United Kingdom rather than going abroad.

If you can brave the English summer then you will find you are spoilt for choice when it comes to destinations. The UK literal has everything you could possibly want and its all only a stones throw away from your front door.

The south west is where the best of the weather is usually found, counties such as Dorset, Devon and Cornwall are all very popular destinations for UK holiday makers. Across the UK you will find numerous holiday parks with static caravans and chalet style accommodation on offer.

The holiday parks usually have an assortment of accommodations from static caravans through to wooden lodges. The caravans are great for family breaks on a budget and some of the lodges are perfect for family holidays with older children or couples. However holiday parks is not all the UK has to offer, if you want to take a break from the norm then why not look into staying in a renovated windmill or a purposes built luxury tree house.

As well as the typical English caravan park there are a number of sites that offer self catering or full board accommodation. They tend to have on-site restaurants where you can eat as well as many amenities such as fun fair rides, mini supermarkets and daily activities and shows for younger visitors.

There are of course plenty of hotels and luxury bed and breakfasts around the country but one of the best ways to get away from it all is to book a cottage break. They not only have the comfort of being more like a home from home you also have the benefit of not being crowded by other families.

If you have a love for the prehistoric then a visit to the Dorset and East Devon coast is a must, here you will find one of UNESCO world heritage sites which starts at Orcombe Point, Exmouth in East Devon all the way to Old Harry Rocks near Swanage which is in East Dorset.

If you are more the adventurer then North Wales is a great destination, with many lakes, rivers and mountains there is plenty for any adrenaline junkie to enjoy from white water rafting to rock climbing.

If all out relaxation and pampering is on the menu then booking into one of the many spas across the country is ideal, in most cases they are set in glorious grounds and gardens that can be explored at a very leisurely pace. For couples who want to escape and not have the noise of countless children screaming around there are hotels that are specifically adult only resorts.

Whether you are a sun goddess who needs a golden sandy beach nearby or an adrenaline junkie who loves getting into tight situations you will find a break in the UK that is perfect for your needs and budget.
