PS3 Money Tournaments And You

by Dan Rivalspot

There are a few big name software companies that contribute greatly to the world of gaming consoles. Sony is one of those companies, with its most famous PlayStation console released. As of now the most current system is the PS3, and it has many new capabilities that the first two editions did not. One of those abilities the enabling of tournaments through its console. They are appropriately named PS3 money tournaments.

The PS3 was released with the ability to receive internet and subsequently many software programs were designed for the system. This fact means there can be online tournaments held where players all over the world with same game can compete together. Money tournaments are very similar to online tournaments.

Some people define tournament is a very specific way, but the definition of a tournament is the collective competition of several individuals or teams all racing (not necessarily literally) towards one goal or objective. With this in mind an interactive tournament amongst players through a safe networking system is characterized by the number of people involved and the steaks.

The number of players are a big deciding factor in whether or not a tournament will played for money . If the tournament is indeed played for it then there has to be enough players to ante up money. Also if an online tournament that includes players from all over the world is played for money then the players will have to divulge personal information which goes against the privacy settings for most players. This, however can work but only in one scenario-if the money tournament is sponsored by the PS network and the overall winner is given the cash prize by the network instead of from the other players.

The steaks for the two types are very different. The steaks for a money tournament will obviously be a cash prize or equal substitute of that nature. However, but for a regular online tournament will have different prizes. Some of these prizes include but are not limited too; gift cards, pride, logo or gaining face time.

That could be completely different depending on the type it is. For private competitions it can just be for fun or pride or some personal bet between the characters. For public events it can be anything from achieving high status (pride) to a cash award or equivalent valued prize.

Engaging in competition also has its ups and downsides. It can cause some people to constantly view other players as “enemies” and prevents higher levels of camaraderie amongst players. However, this higher level of competition also breeds higher levels of hand-eye coordination.

PS3 tournaments are a great way to gain and test skills of hand-eye coordination through gaming. Although people believe it causes set backs in learning to communicate and interact correctly through too much competition it helps people who are generally not outgoing or passionate about things to begin to create, learn and feel those things. Joining in and winning can also boost one’s self-esteem and sometimes involves cash pay-offs. These competitions can be run the network themselves or they can be privately run by a small number of players who happen to all know each other and wish to compete against one another.
