Corporate Products Sell Like Pancakes
There are businesses that highly benefit from the revenue that corporate products bring. The money that is generated from these items propels the business to expand while waiting for the turnout for their primary commodities. Two industries that get huge earnings from merchandise are sports and music thanks to the interest of fans and more people joining the bandwagon.
If a sports team would rely on just ticket profits per game for income, the entity would easily fold. This is why they also put up for sale other items that bear the logo and label of the team. Sports jerseys sell like hotcakes and the money earned from it goes to the operational expenses of the team. Aside from owning the sport shirt of their favourite player, fans would also purchase autographed memorabilia, team shirts, caps and even bags.
To create a continuous stream of income, sports franchises also sell seasonal items like coats for the winter season and beach items for summer. To cater to their young market, sports teams also sell stuffed toys that carry the team\’s logo and cards that they can exchange with their friends. The stronger and better the fan base of a team, the higher the income from corporate products.
Meanwhile, music companies do not rely on just the album sales of their musicians. Rather, they increase their cash flow by releasing magazines or videos that renders the ultimate fan experience. The video collection can carry never before seen footages, official music videos with commentary and all-access interviews if the musician is on tour.
To enhance their profit, recording companies even sell artist equipment and dolls. The most avid fans do not hesitate in buying these items once they hit the stores. Indeed, the corporate products that sports teams and music companies sell drive their operations to greater heights. However, the income from these items is endangered when the group performs poorly or when the artist gets involved in a scandal.
