Those who are not familiar with art history may think this is an intimidating topic. Europe has been home to some of history\’s most accomplished artists. However, you do not have to be an expert or an artist to appreciate European paintings.

You do not need to be an art historian to appreciate the wide scope of these art works. There are many styles to cater to any individual tastes. Options for enjoying art, whether in your own home or elsewhere, are abundant. Whether you want to start a collection or just visit a museum, it is easy to become a lover of fine art.

Europe has a deep cultural history which has influenced many styles of art. Ranging from the 1300s up until today, they reflect some of the most important events and time periods in world history. Important art styles include the Gothic, neoclassical, romanticism, impressionism and futurism. Many of these art movements encompassed other types of work such as theater and music. You can even find them on-line. An image search makes it easy to download or print those that catch your eye. You can also find many on-line vendors selling reproductions or original works of art. If you can afford it, art brokers and auction houses also offer these for sale, though often at a steep price.

From the Middle Ages to today, Europe has produced countless pieces of fine art. New artists are being born every day. No one can guess what the next great masterpiece will be. Whether you prefer something classical, or something wholly revolutionary, european paintings offer something for everyone.
