How do you find the Right Dance Show?
In some ways your learning and even performing experience can depend on what type of dance shoes you choose. It can even impact just your social dancing experience. So whether you\’re a beginner or a professional dancer, choosing the right dance shoe is necessary.
For men, your choice of style should be secondary to the right type of shoe. The dance shoe must be lightweight and secure. Your foot should not be able to move inside the shoe put it should feel too tight. Try to wear the type of socks you would wear out dancing when trying on a new pair of dance shoes.
Women should wear shoes with wider straps, as thin straps are less supportive and more likely to stretch too much. It is also because sometimes the toes escape through the straps and end up on the floor. Also thin, non-stretching synthetic straps may dig into the skin, which in turn causes the foot to swell making the shoe tight and uncomfortable.
It\’s hard to tell whether a shoe is made from real leather or man-made materials. But it\’s also good to know that not all leathers \”breathe\” and some synthetic leather breathes very well. It is important because shoes that breath better are healthier for feet because moisture and heat build up in the shoe are reduced. Thus it increases comfort and reduces problems. But good quality leather has the ability to stretch and mold to the foot making them more comfortable.
In dance footwear, chrome, suede and leather are the sole materials. Chrome soles can be used on almost any surface but are hard wearing. Suede leather soles may only be used on wooden dance floor but they are thin, light and flexible. They both pick up wax from the floor, which can leave the shoe too slippery or not slippery enough. Leather soles are good for experienced dancers who have good control on the dance floor. Rubber soles are not good because they inhibit your spins and may ruin your knees.
