Christmas is coming up sooner than we realize. Putting on a Christmas Play is a great way to bring the holiday spirit to life this Christmas. Putting on and planning a Christmas Play is a lot of hard work, but it is always worth it. There are a lot of things that you have to consider when putting on a Christmas Play, things such as, the set, cast, play, time, interior set, etc. Lets go over some of the basics of putting on a Christmas Play.

First, you need to decide which Christmas Play you are going to put on. There are a lot of great ideas for a Christmas Play. A lot of people choose to put on the nativity for their Christmas Play. A fun idea for a Christmas Play is to think of your favorite Christmas movie and turn it into a play. Some movies that you could turn into a Christmas Play are: The Grinch, Charlie Browns Christmas, Home Alone, or any Christmas movie that you can think of.

After you have picked which Christmas Play you are going to do, you need to pick your cast. The cast is a very important part to a Christmas Play. You need to have a flexible cast that is reliable. It is important to hold auditions to see who will fit best in your cast. Before you hold auditions, you should have a meeting that explains the play and the roles that people can audition for. Once you choose your cast, you need to start rehearsing. It is never too early to start rehearsing for you Christmas Play. Christmas is such a busy season and it always sneaks up on everyone, before you know it, Christmas will be here! You should start having a rehearsal once a week up until the two weeks before your Christmas Play, then you can have more regular rehearsals.

Promote your Christmas play in your community. Getting the community involved is a great way to help bring the spirit of Christmas to everyone. Have the community help build the set. You need to consider the space that you have to work with for your Christmas Play. Sometimes the best set is a simple interior set. Putting on a Christmas Play can be so much fun, but you need to be organized. Organization is key to putting on a Christmas play, making sure you cast is ready for the Christmas Play, and that your set is built in time. Also, you need to be considerate of the time of your Christmas Play. Make sure it is just the right time, not too long, or not too short. No one likes to sit through a Christmas Play that is too long, but you want it to be long enough for people to enjoy it and to feel the spirit of Christmas.

Putting on a Christmas play can be a big task to take on, and it might feel a little overwhelming at first, however, you will be very pleased with your end result after the play is over.
