The Not So Funny Side Of Richard Overton

Richard Overton was born to Nancy and Hall in Queens, New York on August 10, 1954. A boy raised in Englewood, New Jersey, he was credited for his first onscreen role as Dr. Thurman Flicker in the comedic film Young Doctors In Love aired in 1982. His other acting credits include Willow and The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne.

After being featured in numerous shows, he landed on a major comedy show dubbed The Edge of FOX channel in 1992 until 1993. He was also casted in Mrs. Doubtfire, another comedy film in the late part of 1993. Recent TV series like Lost also featured the actor in some episodes.

But Overton\’s love for TV shows and movies was an understatement because he was actually involved in some screenwriting himself. He was awarded an Emmy for an episode of Dennis Miller Live he wrote in 1996. He had written so far 20 episodes for the said comedy show.

He was again nominated by Emmy and the Writers Guild of America for his other works on comedy and variety programs. His fluency in the use of words has earned him a place in Satiristas. Indeed, he has worked with comedy veteran Paul Provenza for this show.

Satiristas is a convergence of great comedians, contrarians and vulgarians who aim to expose the folly of the modern American society through satire and humor. Mind expressions are done through a variety of things such as stand up comedy and art portraits.

The actor\’s contribution to Satiristas cannot be overlooked. Along with other comedians, he helps expose the negative aspects of the society through the jokes he cracks. He can flawlessly touch on subjects like racism, social injustice and even environmental pollution to hopefully make changes.

Despite the kind of life Richard Overton lives, chasing the social and political issues in the U. S., he is glad to love dogs without having to buy one.
