Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is the largest state park in California. There is five-hundred miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas and miles of hiking trails that provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to experience the wonders of the California Desert.

The park is named after Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza and the Spanish name borrego, or bighorn sheep. There are washes, wildflowers, palm groves, cacti and sweeping vistas for the visitors enjoyment. Visitors may also have the chance to see roadrunner, golden eagles, kit foxes, mule deer and bighorn sheep as well as iguanas, chuckwallas and the red diamond rattlesnake.

There were two art shows last 1989 that were held at the Christmas Circle Park in the heart of Borrego Springs Village. From these two shows on 1991 the shows became one single show drawing upon the beauty of the Anza-Borrego Desert. The art show was shown together with the Grapefruit Festival.

Around March when the spring is just starting the art show would usually be held around this time. The art show is usually held at the Christmas Circle Park. Because the show is held at this park the art show was finally called Circle of Art.

There will be around seventy artists showcasing their quality paintings, art works representing a variety of media including oil and watercolors, photography, sculpture, ceramics, pottery, weaving and jewelry. The admission for the Circle of Art Show is free for the public.

At every year when there is the Circle of Art Show a poster artist is selected. The artist will be the one assign to make the poster for the current Art Show then on the next year his poster will be sold with his signature on the poster. On the next year another poster artist will be selected and his art will be used for that current Circle of Art Show and this will go on every year.
