Great Adventure is an amusement park that you must see! It is 60 miles from Newary, 67 miles from New York City, and 50 miles from Philadelphia. It is the best place to go to in the tri-state area; very accessible, too! It is an experience that packs quite a triple whammy!

Great Adventure is a neighbor of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, one of the biggest water parks in the whole of United States. It is also next to the Six Flags Wild Safari Animal Park, a drive-thru safari. It is home to over 1,200 different kinds of animals.

Great Adventure is famous for its exciting rides and it is also one out of two other Six Flags parks that would be opening “The Dark Knight” roller coaster in the summer. This contemporary ride is a fusion between the thrill of an indoor coaster, story-telling, and state-of-the-art special effects. You will actually be able to feel as if you were right in between the battle of good and evil. The Dark Knight is not just your ordinary roller coaster ride.

The debut of The Dark Knight Coaster was set to concur with the release of the film, “The Dark Knight” on July 18. The riders of the roller coaster would be able to get a sneak preview of the film since the ride opens on May 15 at the Six Flags Great Adventure.

Great Adventure is also hosting a sleep over with a scavenger hunt and all sorts of contests in order to find eight people that would be able to be part of the first ride of The Dark Knight coaster. The camp out will be in the Great Adventure parking lot on May 14. The participation fee for a chance to be one of the lucky eight is $124.99.

Great Adventures is not only known for its fun and exciting rides, but they also have a lot of great shows and entertainment. The Starburst Thursday Night Concert Series will be returning this year with shows every Thursday night from June 29 to August 14. Last year, pop stars like Ne-Yo, Katharine McPhee and the Jonas Brothers were featured on Thursday concerts. There would also be a concert series every Sunday evenings in July and August called, the Sunday Rocks! Raven Symone is already scheduled to be performing on August 24. All of the concerts are included with the park admission or your season pass.

The Glow in the Park Parade will also be shown in Great Adventure. The show will be presented every night and will feature the state-of-the-art special effects and custom-designed floats. Parade technology will accompany it with characters, puppeteers, kinetic stilt walkers and much, much more!

The Six Flags Great Adventure opens on the 15th of May during the summer season of 2008. General admission is $59.99 and can be purchased online for $39.99. Tickets for children below 4’5″ tall will cost $29.99, and children under the age of 2 may enter for free.
