Most quick fix methods for electronics have typically involved subjecting it to some form of abuse. This meant a violent action such as hitting, shaking, or kicking to coax it into functioning again. This works because loose electrical connections can reconnect after enough persistence. But other connections are loosened by the mechanical shock which guarantees more problems later on.

One of the better known fixes for the ring of death error is the towel fix or towel trick. It readily falls into this category of fixing something by abusing it. Instead of mechanical abuse, the remedy involves heating the internal chips at extremely high temperatures so that broken solder points get reconnected and badly warped components get reshaped.

The method to this madness starts with wrapping your Xbox with a few towels. Then you turn on the Xbox for about 15 minutes and you’re finished. Now you’re all set to enjoy some gaming sessions. When the next ring of death error happens you just reapply the trusty towel trick.

If it fixes your Xbox, then what’s wrong with the towel fix? As was mentioned previously, the towel fix cooks the Xbox’s components at very punishing temperatures. This is a degenerative procedure that completely fries your Xbox.

Another issue that’s somewhat beside the point of this article is that the towel trick can be dangerous to do. The Xbox generates a lot of heat (hence the need for the cooling system in the first place). Because of the towels, the heat has nowhere to go and builds up fast. If your Xbox catches on fire, flammable things next to your Xbox (such as your house) can burn too.

The towel trick makes no sense at all and in this case, counterintuitive doesn’t help. The ring of death is caused by the Xbox producing too much heat and having a cooling system that can’t keep pace. Fixing this problem by applying more heat only makes the problem worse.

The Apple I-pod is one of the most technologically advanced multi media players on the market. The new I-pod touch and I-pod video have the capabilities to store and play thousands of songs and pictures like the older models, but now have the technology to store and play hundreds of hours of video as well.

Many people are not familiar with the history of this famous piano manufacturer, but it`s a fascinating one. This German company is still going strong and consumers have come to expect top quality from them.

Feeling down because your Xbox won’t stop freezing? Do you keep getting the ring of death failure. You are now a member of an expanding international group of frustrated Xbox owners.

Having a lot of company that share your problem doesn’t help you any, so this article will discuss your Xbox 360 repair options. In no particular order, they are:

1.) Send your Xbox back to Microsoft to get it replaced or repaired. If the warranty for your Xbox hasn’t expired, they’ll send you a replacement for free. Otherwise you’ll be charged well over $100.

Note that if you’ve opened your console, your warranty is void. Regardless of whether you were attempting to repair it yourself or had other legitimate reasons, you will lose your warranty.

Also note that this process can take a long time. Two weeks or so is about the average turn around time. There is also a specific procedure that Microsoft requires you to follow for returning your Xbox.

2.) You can try to wet-nurse your console back to health. If this is the first or second ring of death problem with your machine, then there probably hasn’t been any real heat damage. Further ring of death freeze-ups might be avoided by keeping your Xbox cool when it’s in use.

Overheating is the root cause for the red ring of death. Keep the cooling vents open and free of obstructions. Use your Xbox in an open and cool environment. Limit your playing times to no more than three or four hours.

Almost anybody is able to transfer music to iPod with ease, but to add music from iPod to computer is a different matter.

While you are able to synchronize your computer’s music library with your iPod, automatically or manually, transferring files back from your iPod to your computer entails a more complex process.

Apple has probably made this intention in order to protect music companies participating in Apple’s iTunes programs and to prevent piracy as well. If your device readily comes with the feature that enables you to add music from iPod to computer, Apple will no longer be able to control the likelihood of piracy and abuse of the feature,

Apple knows, however, that not all people are prone to do things like that. There are things you can do to recover your files in case your iPod suffers a major trouble. Apple has only restricted the feature of adding music to your computer from iPod, but it has not totally banished it

You have to make the music folder in your Ipod visible so music can be added back from iPod to computer. This is the difficult part because the folder is usually hidden, so in order to make it visible you have to do a series of steps.

Mac users will need to download TinkerTool, a software that will give you access to hidden files, then plug the iPod to the PC and launch iTunes. iTunes will then prompt you to replace your iPod’s contents with songs coming from its library, and you must say no to this. Next, enable the Manually Manage Songs and Playlists and also the Disk Use option and launch TinkerTool. Click on the Finder Tab and the Relaunch Finder. Double click the icon of the iPod on your desktop. Hidden in this folder are several other folders, one of which is the music folder. When you see this, drag this out to your desktop so you can copy the files from your iPod.

If you are using Windows applications, plug your iPod, launch iTunes, select the iPod icon from the iTunes source list, and enable the Manually Manage Songs and Playlist option and the Disk Use option. Next, double click My Computer and look for the iPod icon; click it. Go to Tools Menu and click Folder Options and then View Tab. When you see the Hidden Files and Folders option, enable the Show Hidden Files and Folders option and click Apply. Now, double click your iPod folder on your desktop, double click the iPod control folder and drag the music folder back to your desktop in order to add music from iPod to computer.
